Term of office: Jan. 1, 2022 – December 31, 2025
LaToya Dowdell-Burger is serving in her first full term on the Groveport Madison Schools Board of Education. On July 8, 2020, she was appointed to fill the remainder of the term held by former Board member Bryan Shoemaker.
LaToya is a graduate of Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center in Columbus, Ohio, and moved to Groveport in 2006.
LaToya, an eleven-year United States Army Veteran with more than 16 years of experience in Human Resources, Workforce Development, Health Administration, Business Development, and Media/Public Affairs, served in Kuwait (Operation Iraqi Freedom). She also attended several military schools, U.S. Government Leadership Academies, and attended the Ohio Christian University Leadership/Ministry.
She also served as the Marketing Director for the Oakley Full Gospel Baptist Church, Marketing Director for the Kingdom Image Awards, and currently serves as the Marketing Director for Greater Ebenezer Cathedral of Praise.
LaToya enjoys singing, writing music, and “anything artsy.” She and her husband have a blended family with seven children with age differences spanning nearly two decades. She also is a proud grandmother of three.
